Bubba Watson rips into his caddy after triple bogey costs him $1m win

The God-loving golfer was in an unforgiving mood after he blew a healthy lead at the Travelers Championship.

BUBBA WATSON WAS leading the Travelers Championship in Connecticut on Sunday when he made a Horlicks out of the par three 16th hole.

The 2012 Masters champion found the water off the tee and then overhit his approach from the marked drop zone. After putting too much pepper on his chip back onto the green, Watson then rolled a putt to the left of the hole to record a damaging triple bogey.

Interspersed with his struggles to keep his championship lead, Watson lambasted his caddy Ted Scott. The American blamed Scott for poor club selection off the tee and for his iron approach. His irksomeness can be explained somewhat by his failure to hold the lead, thus costing himself the $1m winners’ cheque.

The devout christian was short on forgiveness as he pointed his club at his caddy and declared ‘It’s in the water, the water, with that club’. He later said ‘So you’re telling me that was the right club?’ Check out the video here:

And what of Padraig Harrington? Well, the Dubliner, who trailed by two shots after the second round, had a final round disaster. His closing 80 included eight bogeys and a double bogey seven on the 13th.

Harrington finished on joint 72nd and also missed out on the $1m first prize booty.
