BRYAN SHEEHAN HAS been nominated as Kerry football captain for 2016.
The five-time All-Ireland winner was put forward by county champions South Kerry following their win in November’s final.
Sheehan, 30, previously captained Kerry to a Munster title during Jack O’Connor’s second term in 2010.
The 2016 campaign will be his 12th senior season in green and gold, with 60 appearances and 6-153 in championship scores already to his name.
His nomination will be ratified at the next meeting of the Kerry County Committee, a statement said on Sunday evening.
A huge talent to have sitting on the bench most of the time.
Well deserved
Good freetaker but sadly wont make best kerry fiftheen.
I think anyone who saw Sheehan in this year’s county championship, and in particular the 2 finals can see he should be the first name on the team sheet…class act!
One of the most underrated players of the modern game.
Great skills but lacks fitness and speed
Rolls Royce footballer
Delighted for him & his Club, absolute super footballer touch of Class & his free-taking just a natural, walks up to ball & strokes it over from 60yards out!!
Spot on Michael. He’s clearly carrying some weight, and hasn’t the speed for the modern game.. Surprised he didn’t retire along with , o mahony and o se..
