French defender lands flying drop-kick on opponent in Champions League qualifier

It doesn’t come as a major surprise to learn Dudelange’s Bryan Melisse was sent off for the horror tackle.

F91 DUDELANGE OF Luxembourg faced Hungarian MOL Vidi FC in a Champions League first round qualifier this week.

While Vidi claimed a second leg victory to progress 3-2 on aggregate from the tie, there was a moment of madness late in injury-time.

Dudelange defender Bryan Melisse cleared the ball away under pressure before bringing his two legs together and drop-kicking Vidi’s Mate Patkai in the midsection.

Shades of Nigel de Jong on Xabi Alonso in the 2010 World Cup final from this challenge, which was rightly greeted with a red card.
