HAVE YOU EVER seen a footballer balance the ball on his head and thought: what possible purpose does that serve?

Glen Rea has the answer.
The Brighton U21 channelled his inner seal during an U21 game against Millwall earlier this week.
He balanced the ball and jogged away to stall Kris Twardek as he went to take a throw-in.
While Twardek marvelled — or, more likely, muttered obscenities under his breath — Rea let the ball drop onto his heel and, with a cheeky glance over his shoulder, backheeled the ball straight into Twardek’s face.
We’re impressed by the skill, impressed by the deviousness and impressed by the execution.
Really, we’re just flat-out impressed.
(Yes, we would feel very differently if we were on the receiving end.)
