BRIAN GREGAN HAS booked his spot in the semi-finals of the 400m World Championships in London.
The Clonliffe Harriers athlete took an impressive third-place finish in his heat today in a time of 45.37 seconds.
The semi-final is scheduled for tomorrow.
“I knew when I got to 150 to go I could catch them all. I felt really strong with 100 to go.
“My whole gameplan was wait to 80m to go and come through the field and it played out exactly as I wanted.
“I know what I have to do. I was ranked sixth on PB, finished third so there’s not much more you can ask.”
The Bahamas’ Steven Gardiner took first ahead of Will London of America in second.
Mark English is the next Irish runner out – he goes in the 800m at 1.20pm.
