LIVERPOOL MANAGER BRENDAN RODGERS says he wants to add to his squad as early in the January transfer window as possible.
Birmingham claimed on Friday Liverpool are holding talks over signing goalkeeper Jack Butland, while Rodgers’ team are close believed to be close to securing Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge and Blackpool winger Tom Ince.

According to Rodgers, Liverpool will be making signings in the coming days as he looks to improve on a inconsistent start to the 2012/13 campaign.
“We’ll be able to make some additions in January to help the group,” Rodgers told reporters.
“I always remain optimistic because of the honesty of the players but we need to be more consistent.
“We’re hoping we’ll be able to do something pretty early on in January – and then we’ll see what else January can bring.”
Rodgers also said Uruguay forward Luis Suarez will be fit for Sunday’s clash with QPR, despite picking up an ankle injury during the Boxing Day defeat at Stoke.
“Luis will be fine,” he said.
“He’s a real robust player and is very rarely in the treatment room.
“He’s been playing with a bad ankle for a couple of weeks and took a heavy knock the other night, but he’s fine.”
