Rodgers has changed his opinion of Gerrard over the last two years.

Swansea Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool Brendan Rodgers don't rate Gerrard the same

Rodgers’ all-time Premier League XI from 2012 is missing one major Liverpool legend.

LAST WEEK WE highlighted a few cases of Brendan Rodgers’ words coming back to haunt him, particularly with his comments about the state of Southampton and Spurs.

Today, another gem resurfaced. Earlier in the week when talking about Steven Gerrard being offered a new contract, the Liverpool boss said that his captain was arguably the best player in the history of the Premier League.

Turns out that Rodgers actually picked his all-time Premier League XI on Match of the Day when he was the Swansea manager.

It is a little unfair to constantly dig up old clips of Rodgers because most Premier League managers probably have similarly embarrassing verbal skeletons in their closet but for so many to come out in quick succession is pretty hilarious.

In fairness to Rodgers, he hadn’t managed Gerrard at the time of the video but this still looks like a case of the Liverpool boss again changing his tune to suit his current situation.
