OVER THE LAST few weeks, there’s been an inevitable exodus of players from Fulham.
Damien Duff, Steve Sidwell, Giorgos Karagounis, Mahamadou Diarra and John Arne Riise have all been released as the London side prepare for life in the Championship. Centre-back Brede Hangeland has also been let go despite having one year left on his contract.
And the 32 year-old Norwegian was left seething when the club informed him of their decision via email.

Hangeland has claimed that no one from Fulham met with him personally to discuss the situation, despite having played for the club for six and a half years and served as captain.

In a statement, he said:
I received such notification by e-mail with no representative from the club meeting with me at any point to discuss this matter. After six-and-a-half years of loyalty and hard work, and the last few years as captain, I am disappointed beyond words about this course of action.”
Fulham took to Twitter to issue an official response and said “all personal protocol was followed”.
The Club would like to clarify that all personal protocol was followed and that Brede Hangeland was notified in the right way.
Keeping with the social media theme, Hangeland has received support from his ex-club-mate and international colleague Riise who also slammed Fulham’s behaviour.
It’s thought that Hangeland wants to stay in the Premier League with Crystal Palace one of the clubs rumoured to be monitoring his situation.
