Brede Hangeland signs a one-year deal with Crystal Palace

The former Fulham captain was controversially released by the Cottagers following their relegation from the top-flight.

VETERAN DEFENDER BREDE HANGELAND will be playing Premier League football next season after signing a one-year contract with Crystal Palace.

The Norwegian’s six and a half year tenure at Fulham came to a bitter end earlier this summer when he was released by the relegated club with Hangeland claiming he was informed of the decision by email.

But, he was understandably thrilled at securing a move to a top-flight club.

It’s expected that the centre-back will slot straight into the first-team though he will face plenty of competition from Scott Dann and Damien Delaney

Palace struggled badly in the top-flight last term until Tony Pulis replaced Ian Holloway as manager last November and guided the side to a superb 11th-place finish.
