The famous Brazilian superfan you all know has died

Clovis ‘Gaucho’ Acosta Fernandes was 60 and had attended seven World Cups as a fan.

YOU MAY REMEMBER him from your TV screens during recent World Cup tournaments, perhaps most notably for his tearful expression after Brazil’s 7-1 drubbing to Germany in the semi-final in July 2014.

Clovis Acosta Fernandes was a symbolic fan figure and he has sadly passed away at the age of 60 after a nine-year long battle with cancer.
