TWO GOALS IN four minutes made it a worthwhile trip to the seaside for Cork City and saw them narrow the gap at the top to four points.
Sean Maguire and Karl Sheppard killed off Bray Wanderers with strikes on 67 and 70 minutes respectively as the Leesiders finally broke through a stubborn home defence.
It was stalemate at the interval at the Carlisle Grounds but it required a superb Alan McNally goal-line clearance to deny Steven Beattie a 49th minute opener.
City fans were incensed when Maguire saw a 53rd minute strike chalked off for offside but nobody denied him on 67 minutes.

Kevin O’Connor’s cross was helped on by Sheppard and Maguire reacted quickest; slapping a volley into the bottom corner.
Four minutes later, Gavan Holohan’s corner was nodded into Sheppard’s path and his low shot dribbled past the outstretched hand of Cherrie who should have done better.

The quick-fire double took any remaining wind out of the Bray sails and Cork cruised to their fourth successive league victory.
They could have made it even sweeter but Cherrie managed to block Greg Bolger’s effort behind when the midfielder was clean through on goal.
Bray Wanderers: Peter Cherrie; Hugh Douglas, Alan McNally, Conor Kenna (C), Jason Marks; Karl Moore, Robbie Creevy, Mark Salmon (Darragh Noone, 77), Dylan Connolly; Ger Pender; Andrew Lewis (Gareth McDonagh, 63).
