DYLAN CONNOLLY AND substitute Chris Lyons grabbed the goals for Bray as they overcame Galway United 2-0 at Eamonn Deacy Park.
Galway United lost at home for the first time in three games as they failed to break through some strong defensive work from the away side.
United still had plenty of chances over the 90 minutes, but they were unable to find the net, while Connolly and Lyons grabbed goals late on in each half to take all three points.

Connolly’s goal came a minute before the interval as Stephen Folan lost control of the ball on the edge of the Galway box and Connolly nipped in to score and give them a 1-0 lead at the break.
Galway United won the previous two meetings of the sides this season and after half-time, the hosts besieged the Bray box with Tim Clancy in superb form at centre back as they repelled Galway each time.
Stephen Walsh had a couple of headers that threatened Peter Cherrie’s goal, while the Bray stopper made a good save to keep out Vinny Faherty’s deflected shot on 76 minutes as Galway failed to find an equaliser.
But the visitors could breathe easy in the closing stages, when Lyons made it safe in the 88th minute as he got on the end of fellow substitute Gareth McDonagh’s delivery. This victory extends Bray’s unbeaten run to eight games.
