SWANSEA CITY HAVE secured the signing of Spanish striker Borja Baston from Atletico Madrid for a fee in the region of £15.5 million.
The transfer fee the Welsh-based Premier League side have paid for the 23-year-old eclipses their previous record of £12 million they spent to bring in Wilfried Bony from Vitesse Arnhem in 2013.
Borja had been with Atletico Madrid since 2010, but made only one league appearance for the side in that time, and has gone on to have five different loan spells over five years.

Last season with Eibar, the striker scored 18 goals in 36 league appearances in Spain’s top flight, which proved enough for Swansea to bring Borja to the Premier League.
“It’s difficult to set a target of goals, but my mantra is take it goal by goal. Hopefully I can score a lot of goals.
“It is the most important decision of my career. I want to settle and spend several years here.”
The former Spanish youth international will become the 16th Spaniard to represent Swansea, joining Angel Rangel, Jordi Amat and recent recruit Fernando Llorente at the Liberty Stadium.
