MAYOR OF LONDON Boris Johnson has sent his congratulations to surprise Connacht SFC finalists London this afternoon.
The Exiles made history as they booked a spot in the provincial decider for the first time with a thrilling single-point win over Leitrim in Roscommon yesterday.
“Huge congratulations to the London team as they continue on with their historic march towards this year’s Connacht Senior Football Championship Final,” the Conservative Party heavyweight said in a statement released to TheScore.ie.
“Regardless of the result against Mayo, London can be proud of their mightily impressive achievements this year,” Johnson said. “They travel to Castlebar on their momentous quest for victory with best wishes from me and all London fans. Go London!”

Leitrim councillors invited him to Carrick-on-Shannon for the first drawn game against London last month but the request was ignored and forwarded to Buckingham Palace. The Queen was too busy to attend too.
