Bolton v Blackburn to go ahead this weekend

Bolton confirm that they will fulfill Saturday’s Premier League fixtures after speaking with Fabrice Muamba’s family.

BOLTON’S HOME PREMIER LEAGUE fixture against Blackburn Rovers will go ahead as scheduled on Saturday.

After Tuesday’s game against Aston Villa was postponed in the wake of Fabrice Muamba’s cardiac arrest at Tottenham last week, it was believed that Saturday’s match was in doubt.

Yet the club have confirmed that after talking to the family of Muamba that they will fulfil all of their upcoming fixtures, with a date for the rescheduled clash with Tottenham to be confirmed by the Football Association.

Manager Owen Coyle said: “We spoke together with the players as a group this morning and I talked with Fabrice’s family last night.

“Fabrice’s father Marcel and his fiancée Shauna were keen that we fulfill our fixtures. Once the players knew this, there was no doubt in our minds that we would play the matches.”
