BOLTON WANDERERS ARE heading back to the Championship after securing automatic promotion from League One at the first time of asking.
Phil Parkinson’s side recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Peterborough United on the final day of the League One season to finish second behind Sheffield United.

Goals from Jem Karacan, David Wheater and Adam le Fondre ensured automatic promotion back to the second tier of English football after Bolton had gone into the final day two points clear of Fleetwood Town.
Fleetwood had to settle for a place in the play-offs after drawing 0-0 with Port Vale, a result which was unable to save Michael Brown’s men fromrelegation down to League Two.
The big drama of the day came at the Memorial Stadium where Millwall came from behind to snatch a late winner with a 4-3 victory enough for them to claim the last play-off berth.
The play-offs begin on Thursday with Millwall facing Scunthorpe United and Bradford meeting Fleetwood. The ties are over two legs with the League One play-off final taking place on Saturday 20 May at Wembley.
