A SECOND WIN over Longford Town in as many games saw Bohemians move into second in the league, with the goals coming courtesy of Dean Kelly and Adam Evans in a comfortable 2-0 victory in Dalymount.

The opening quarter of the match offered little in the way of real chances, but when Lorcan Fitzgerald delivered a teasing cross to the back post from the game’s first corner-kick, Kelly headed in for his second league goal of the season.

David O’Sullivan and Pat Sullivan did have sights of the home goal before that, but both Roberto Lopes and Anto Murphy made important blocks out and around the edge of the penalty area.

Lopes and Murphy went on to dominate the Longford attack as the opening half unfolded, and the visitors lost the services of Stephen Rice towards the end of the half due to injury.

The centre-half pairing continued to impress after the restart, but the game really offered little in the way action until the 69th minute when O’Sullivan forced Delany into a smart save in the Bohs goal.

Evans was introduced immediately after that, and with his first touch, he smashed the ball in at the back post after a low cross from the right courtesy of Kelly.

It was pretty much one-way traffic after that, with Bohs doing all the driving towards the Town goal, and they closed out the tie comfortably to move to second in the table.
