BOHEMIANS HAVE RELEASED a statement condemning the treatment of Shamrock Rovers striker Eamon Zayed.
The Hoops player, a former Ireland U21 international who now represents Libya, was subjected to racist abuse from a small section of the home fans during Friday night’s Airtricity League game at Dalymount Park.
Bohs, who recorded an impressive 1-0 win over their Dublin rivals, have branded the behaviour “unacceptable” and called for those involved to come forward.
“Bohemian FC condemns unequivocally the racist abuse directed at Shamrock Rovers player Eamon Zayed after last Friday’s match in Dalymount Park,” the statement reads.
The club apologises to Eamon Zayed and to Shamrock Rovers for this completely unacceptable incident.

Club president Matt Devaney added: “The best thing they can do to support the club is to come forward, apologise and take the punishment.”
