TWO DOUBLE BOGEYS dropped Rory McIlroy right out of contention at the US PGA Championship in Atlanta on Saturday.
The Holywood man took a six on the par-4 first and then had bogeys on third, sixth and eighth holes to effectively end any hope of challenging at yet another Major in 2011.
He seemed to recover his poise a little with consecutive birdies on 13 and 14 before firing his tee shot into water on the par-3 15th, taking five strokes to finish the hole. Another birdie on 18 saw him finished up in the a tie for 64.

It was also a difficult day start to the day for Padraig Harrington, who dropped five shots on the front night to fall right back into the pack.
