Billy Morgan guided UCC to yet another final tonight

The Cork college beat IT Tralee to advance to the final of the McGrath Cup.

UCC 0-18 IT Tralee 0-6

UCC EASED PAST IT Tralee at the IT Tralee grounds to book their place in the McGrath Cup final this evening. The game was played in torrential rain and after pulling away midway through the first half, the visitors never looked back.

Paul Geaney was a late inclusion for the Cork college and the presence of the All-Ireland winning corner forward significantly bolstered their attack.

But while Geaney was lively, it was Sean Kiely, Tom Hickey and Brian O’Driscoll who starred in the opening half, with the trio all kicking multiple scores.

After being tied at two scores apiece early on,  UCC went on to score eight points unanswered to lead 0-10 to 0-2 at the break.

The second half followed a similar script and Billy Morgan’s men kicked on further to secure a 12-point win to take them into the pre-season decider.
