MAYO’S BILLY JOE PADDEN will swap club and county allegiances for Armagh, according to the BBC.
The 29-year-old is understood to have completed a move from the Bellmullet club to south Armagh side Carrickcruppen and recently trained with Paddy O’Rourke’s squad.
Padden has won three Connacht senior championship titles and a National League with his native county.
He last featured for the green and red in their championship loss to Sligo last June when he came on as a second-half substitute.
Padden, a son of former Mayo great Willie Joe Padden, won a Sigerson Cup All-Star in 2004 while studying at Queen’s University, Belfast.
