IT’S BEEN OVER a year since the sad passing of RTÉ legend Bill O’Herlihy – and with the Euros on the telly every day, he’s being missed more than ever.
This is the first major tournament where he hasn’t marshalled the RTÉ panel with his inimitable grace and wit.
Him not being there just feels strange
And people have been paying tribute to him in the best way – like this flag flying high
Especially on days when Ireland play, his presence is felt
His inspiration is everywhere
People are loving the tournament, but still thinking of Billo
It’s just not the same
Dublin pub The Back Page has created a special mural for the tournament
Some tribute.
And you can see the good will for him popping up all over the place
Whether it’s during matches
Or looking up nostalgic clips of him
Everyone agrees
This summer just won’t be the same without him
Okey doke, we’ll leave it there so <3

Is someone chopping onions
Something in my eye… lovely letter
That is a really lovely sentiment….fair play.

La jour de gloire est arrivé!
Could do with being translated again by something other than google translate.
Agreed but I also think it adds to the authenticity. Couldn’t help but read it in a French accent! Nice work, Irish fans.
