The best images from a weekend of great GAA action

There was agony, ecstasy, American camera crews, blood and glory on Gaelic fields across Ireland.

THERE WERE VICTORIES for Cork, Mayo and Cavan in the Senior Football Championship while Galway held off a stiff challenge from Laois in the hurling.

Brewster Park in Fermanagh had a tight security presence due to the upcoming G8 summit. CNN’s cameras were also on the scene to shoot feature footage. A goal or two might have made for better viewing but Cavan will be delighted with their late drive for a 0-13 to 0-11 win.

On Saturday, Dublin dominatedt Wexford in their Leinster SHC replay while Meath defeated Wicklow.
