And former Footballer Of The Year, Bernard, reckons Dubs fan could see the eldest Brogan brother on the bench at GAA HQ, having battled back from an osteitis pubis injury which has dogged him for the last 12 months.
“He’s done a great rehab and so he’s back on the pitch, thank God for the last week or so,” Bernard Brogan told 98FM this morning. “So we’re hoping to have him close enough to the Kildare game and maybe even on the bench. You never know, it would be great to have him that close.
“But he’s coming back and hopefully we can keep winning and get him in there as soon as possible because he’s just a great leader and a has great experience and he’s a great worker around the pitch. I always do pretty well off him too, he gives me a good few balls so we want him back as quick as possible.”
Bernard hasn’t lined out for the county since the All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Mayo last summer, due to the groin injury.
