DURING THEIR TIME at Tottenham, Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov formed a lethal strike partnership.
The pair have remained friends over the years and Berbatov was among the former team-mates to pay tribute to Keane after he retired from international football last year.
Yesterday, ex-Bulgaria centre forward Berbatov — who, like Keane, is currently a free agent — hosted a legends match for charity in Sofia yesterday with a host of former world stars turning out.
Drafted into his side were Manchester United greats Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra along with Keane, David James Hristo Stoichkov, Stiliyan Petrov and Martin Petrov.
Portuguese legend Luis Figo captained the opposing team and he had the likes of Roberto Carlos, David Trezeguet, Deco, Robert Pires, Christian Karembeu and Jari Litmanen to call upon.
As the highlights video below shows, Keane and Berbatov haven’t lost that telepathic understanding — with Ireland’s all-time top scorer bagging two goals — while Trezeguet is still looking sharp in front of goal too.
