Benfica paid tribute to Eusebio last night by putting his name on the back of all their players' jerseys

The Portuguese legend’s former club fittingly beat Porto 2-0 in the first game since his death.

BENFICA PAID TRIBUTE to the late Eusebio last night during their 2-0 victory over Porto.

As well as a minute’s silence and crowd banners honouring the late star, the club’s players all wore jerseys with Eusebio’s name on the back.

The former Portugal player, who passed away just over a week ago, is widely considered to be one of the greatest footballers of all time.

He won a host of honours during his time with the club, including the European Footballer of the Year accolade in 1965.

The legend’s coffin was also placed in the centre of Benfica’s stadium last week, as the club bid a final farewell to the beloved star.
