The gruesome injury happened live on Australian TV.

A former NRL player has ended up in hospital, after a charity arm wrestling competition on TV ended disastrously.

Ben Ross, an 11-year veteran of the NRL was taking on former Australian union and league player Wendell Sailor on the NRL Footy Show last night, and it didn’t go well.

The pair were locked in a pretty tense wrestle, before an audible snap and scream from Ross brought a premature end to proceedings.

You can even briefly see the second that his arm caves in, as the presenters frantically go to a commercial break and call for an ambulance.

While at the time it seemed like Ross had broken his arm, it’s since been confirmed as a torn bicep.

You have been warned…
