Ben Reynolds earns semi-final spot after battling performance

“It was not a very good race to be honest but the result is what counts,” said the hurdler.

BEN REYNOLDS PUT in an impressive performance on his championship debut this morning to book a spot in the 60m hurdles semi-final at the World Indoor Track and Field Championships in Istanbul.

Reynolds clocked a time of 7.82 to finish fifith and clinch a fastest loser spot.

“It was not a very good race to be honest but the result is what counts,” said Reynolds. “I got through in the end and will have another chance to execute properly on Sunday.”

The North Down AC athlete is scheduled to line out tomorrow at 12.45pm Irish time. Next up for the Irish though is Derval O’Rourke, who goes in the 60m hurdles semi-final at 3.10pm today.
