Belgian starlet opens transfer door to Man United, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid

Theo Bongonda has been catching the eye at Celta Vigo and concedes that he is looking to grace a grander stage.

THEO BONGONDA IS open to leaving Celta Vigo, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid his favoured destinations.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye since linking up with Celta in 2015.

A former Belgium U21 international, he believes that he is ready to take a step up in class and would welcome the opportunity to join fellow countrymen in the Premier League or at a La Liga rival.

Bongonda told reporters: “I could comfortably stay another two or three years with Vigo, but it is not my ambition to spend the rest of my career with them.

If Chelsea, Manchester United or Atletico Madrid call me in the near future I should be ready to make the step up to join them.

“Every footballer wants to play at the highest possible level. If I could choose my next club I’d say Sevilla — I’ve always felt attracted to them although I don’t know why.

“They would be a terrific next step in my career. They are always in the top five in La Liga, always in Europe, and Seville is an attractive city.

But if Real Madrid come in for me I won’t say no. Seriously, I want to develop a step at a time.

“Three years ago I was still sat on the sub’s bench for Zulte Waregem’s game against Beveren. Since then I have played against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.”

Bongonda is under contract until 2019, but a tempting offer could lure Celta into a sale.
