Reports: Bastian Schweinsteiger to Manchester United is a done deal

German newspaper Bild say the player is leaving Bayern after 17 years.

BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER’S MOVE to Manchester United now looks closer than ever, after reports in Germany say the Germany captain has chosen to move to Old Trafford.

Earlier today, it was reported that United would try to lure the 30-year-old to the club with a €1om a year contract, and the German newspaper Bild now say he has decided to leave the German champions.

The paper have a strong reputation when it comes to breaking Bayern Munich news, and they tweeted this evening that Schweinsteiger has left the club, with a fee in the region €20m believed to have been agreed.

The text of the tweet translates to “The transfer of the year! Bastian Schweinsteiger leaves Bayern!”

The World Cup winner now looks set to end a 17 year relationship with the club, having joined Bayern in 1998 as a 13-year-old.
