Insane base jumpers set new record from top of world's tallest building

Probably best to make sure your lunch is well digested before pressing play here.

FRED FUGEN AND Vince Reffet broke a world record by jumping from a platform 500 feet above the worldโ€™s tallest building. The team leapt from Dubaiโ€™s Burj Khalifa tower while executing choreographed movements on the way down from 2,717 feet in the air.

A video posted this week by Skydive Dubai captures the jump and their safe parachute landing on the buildingโ€™s lawn.

The duo trained three years for the jump. Training included jumping from a Swiss mountain to acclimate themselves to the altitude of the tower, as well as jumping several times from helicopters in the Dubai skyline.

The pair were not the first to execute a base jump off the top of the Burj Khalifa, but to ensure they broke the record Fugen and Reffet had a special three-by-one meter platform constructed at the very top of a pinnacle, which added 500 feet to their jump.

Check out the full video of the before, during and after the jump below:

Svitolina made a statement after her match v Azarenka that the organisers should ban the sporting tradition of shaking hands after her opponent was booed off the court for not offering her hand out to be ignored. This was her decision to not shake the hands of sporting Russian athletes so donโ€™t be asking authorities in sport to ban a custom thatโ€™s traditional sporting etiquette gesture, after all its only a game.

Svitolina expects the organisers Wimbledon to ban handshakes after matches , Ironic comment. Can she not stand the sporting Azarenka being booed off the court today, surely easier to say I should have shook her hand

Svitolina is mostly responsible if not totally for unsporting behaviour but are nt we all suppose to be on Ukraine side so it doesnโ€™t matter justโ€ boo the Russiansโ€ anyway
