THE MELBOURNE LAWYER hired by the AFL Players Association to investigate the claims surrounding Ricky Nixon has inspected the videotapes at the centre of the scandal, the Melbourne Herald Sun reports.
Super-agent Nixon, best known in Ireland for enticing promising young GAA stars down under to play Aussie Rules, is under investigation for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old schoolgirl.

David Galbally QC examined four recordings which the teenager is said to have made, one of which appears to show Nixon in his underwear kneeling on a bed.
The Melbourne lawyer has also interviewed Herald Sun reporter Anthony Dowsley, the reporter who originally broke the story. Galbally is expected to conduct further interviews with other “football identities”, as well as with representatives for the teenage girl, according to the Herald Sun.
Speculation last week suggested that Nixon may be in Ireland, both to escape the Australian press and to scout for talent at this weekend’s Sigerson Cup finals. So far though, the controversial figure has not been spotted in Belfield where the climax to this year’s competition is taking place.

Nixon himself however, has not spoken with Galbally. It is not known whether he will cooperate with the investigation, despite assurances he gave to the AFL Players Association before he left the country.
