Reports: Barcelona agree deal to sign Neymar in 2014

According to reports on the Cadena SER radio station, the young Brazilian sensation will be teaming up with Messi and co. after the next World Cup.

BARCELONA HAVE REPORTEDLY agreed a deal to sign young Brazilian striker Neymar from Santos in 2014.

Cadena SER radio reports that the Catalan club have already paid Santos €14.5million of an overall €58m transfer fee, with the 20-year-old set to stay with his current club until after the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.

“According to several reliable sources Barca have already paid a quarter of the €58million to Santos to guarantee the transfer of the player,” Cadena SER claimed.

While Barcelona had previously denied an interest in signing the player, Neymar admitted after Santos’ Club World Cup defeat to Pep Guardiola’s men in December that it would be “a dream” to play for the Blaugranas.

Neymar’s decision to join Barcelona runs contrary to the wishes of his agent Wagner Ribeiro, who is believed to have favoured a move to Real Madrid for his client.
