Primary colours: Barack Obama makes his prediction for the World Series

Hint: we’re talking about a White Sox fan speaking at a rally just outside Washington.

EVEN THE LEADER of the free world is allowed to be a little bit biased when it comes to sport.

US President Barack Obama took time out on the campaign trail to offer his prediction for baseball’s upcoming world series — and yes, he reckons that his Chicago White Sox are going to be there.

During a campaign stop in Virginia, Obama said that he is “looking forward to a White Sox-Nationals World Series,” AP reports.

Really?

“It’s going to happen,” the president said.

Obama, a longtime White Sox fan, congratulated supporters in the Virginia suburbs of Washington the day after the Washington Nationals clinched a playoff berth. The White Sox are currently in first place in the American League Central.
