BALLABRIGGS HAS WON the English Grand National at Aintree in Liverpool this afternoon.
Ballabriggs, who had odds of 14-1, was ridden by jockey Jason Maguire and trained by Donald McCain, the son of Ginger McCain who was the former trainer of the legendary racehorse Red Rum.
The Irish trainer Martin Lynch saw his horse Oscar Time, at 14-1, come in second, ridden by Sam Waley-Cohen.
In third was rider Tony McCoy with Don’t Push It who was 9-1 and fourth was State of Play ridden by Paul Moloney at 28-1.

Fifth was the former Irish Grand National winner Niche Market at 16-1 and ridden by Harry Skelton.
