NIGERIA MIDFIELDER Michel Babatunde is in doubt for the rest of the FIFA World Cup after breaking his hand in his team’s loss to Argentina.
A shot by team-mate Ogenyi Onazi struck Babatunde’s hand during the 3-2 loss, but Nigeria still reached the last 16. Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi confirmed the 21-year-old Volyn Lutsk midfielder required surgery.
“I think he’s got a broken hand and he’s going for surgery right now as we speak,” Keshi said. ”So I’m not sure if he’s still going to participate in this World Cup, but we’ll see how he goes. It’s not good.”
African champions Nigeria face France in the round of 16 in Brasilia on Monday.

Excellent signing
excellent. he’s a better second row than McCarthy.
He’ll look good in red in two years.
Winners don’t jump on a sinking ship
Building a good squad for next season.
Great for Connacht, looks a decent signing. Is he a ‘special project’? (I.e Irish eligible after the 3 years)
Technically he could b but at 29 he’s unlikely to feature when eligible at 32. Same IQ rules don’t apply to Connacht.
At 32 a lock can still be quite useful.
Not eligible as he played for the Junior All Blacks (not an age grade side but rather the NZA team).
Ah…I had forgotten that..
That’s a big signing, fair play. Mc Carthy won’t be missed it seems.
Another lock for Lonster !
