ARSENAL MANAGER Arsene Wenger has insisted he will not sign Newcastle striker Demba Ba.
The Senegalese striker has been attracting interest from a host of clubs after his impressive form so far this season and Arsenal are reportedly in pole position to secure his signature.
The former West Ham United frontman even went as far as saying the north London club are “one of these teams who make you dream”, fuelling speculation he is looking for a move away from Newcastle. However, Wenger has attempted to quell the speculation over a possible bid for Ba by publicly stating that he is not looking to sign the striker.
“It is not right to speak about him because he plays against us tomorrow,” he told reporters ahead of Newcastle’s visit to Arsenal. ”If you ask ‘do we sign him?’ I say no.”

Wenger refrained from speaking about any potential signings as he looks to improve his team who, sit seventh in the English Premier League. He did not rule out a possible third spell at the club for Thierry Henry, who has reportedly already agreed to join the club on loan.
“Any interest we have in any player has to be kept secret so I cannot come out with any names,” Wenger said. ”I have not lost interest in him (Henry), he is still coming today to practise with us. I have not ruled out a move completely.”
