More bad news for Austria as Marc Janko to miss Ireland qualifier

The side’s top scorer has tonsilitis.

AUSTRIA WILL BE without striker Marc Janko for Sunday’s World Cup qualifier in Dublin.

Janko, who signed for Sparta Prague yesterday, has been diagnosed with tonsillitis.

Manager Marcel Koller has called up Graz forward Deni Alar instead.

Austria will already be without Marko Arnautovic and Stefan Ilsanker who are suspended, as well as midfielder Allesandro Schoepf and goalkeepers Robert Almer and Andreas Lukse.

Red Bull Salzburg defender Andreas Ulmer misses the trip to Dublin because of his wedding.
