AIDAN O’BRIEN’S AUSTRALIA was pipped by The Grey Gatsby in a thrilling renewal of the Irish Champion Stakes.

Ballydoyle’s superstar three-year-old was sent off the 3/10 favourite for the feature at Leopardstown on the opening day of the new Irish Champions Weekend.

But he was reeled in on the straight as The Grey Gatsby (7/1), ridden by Ryan Moore, got up to win by a neck and reverse the form from the Juddmonte International Stakes at York last month.
