Aston Villa pay tribute to Irish hit-and-run victim with minute's applause

Jody O’Reilly passed away earlier this month.

AS PROMISED EARLIER this week, Aston Villa celebrated the life of a recently-deceased Irish fan before their Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace this afternoon.

Kildare-born Jody O’Reilly, who moved to England for college, was killed in a hit-and-run on the day he was due to attend Villa’s game against Manchester United on 15 December.

On Monday, the club confirmed that they would be holding a minute’s applause and it took place just before 3pm.
