It’s their first goal of any kind since Christian Benteke’s 88th-minute winner against Blackpool in the last round of the Cup. That was on 4th January.

And it got better for Villa twenty minutes after Gil’s strike when Andreas Weimann popped up with a second – only the third time this season that they’ve managed two or more goals in a game.
