Arturo Vidal heading to Bayern Munich after Juventus accept bid

A €40m fee is believed to have been agreed.

CHILEAN COPA AMERICA winner Arturo Vidal looks to be on his way to German champions Bayern Munich.

The Guardian report this afternoon that the German champions have agreed a €40m fee with Juventus for the player, who will now complete a medical before signing on a four year contract, believed to be worth around €130,000-a-week.

Vidal has been a long touted target of Manchester United, after winning four Serie A titles in a row since his move to Juve in 2011, as well as being a key part of the side that reached the final of the Champions League last season.

The 28-year-old will return to the Bundesliga after four successful years with Bayer Leverkusen from 2007 to 2011, before his €10.5m switch to Juventus.

Vidal’s departure comes just one week after Carlos Tevez left the club to return to Boca Juniors, while another Juve star, Paul Pogba, has been linked with a big money move to Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

His importance is simply from set piece delivery. It will be our best chance of scoring. We need him to deliver in good balls.

There is this myth that he is a set ball specialist. Don’t get me wrong, Robbie is a quality player but he is not a quality set piece specialist as evidenced in the last 18 months of internationals and domestically with Norwich where time and time again his set ball efforts go nowhere.
