NOT ONE BUT three personal bests were recorded in the final of the men’s 200 metres at the Athletic Ireland Open Games at Morton Stadium today.
Brian Gregan (Clonliffe Harriers) ran 21.05 to just edge out David Hynes (Menapians AC) who finished in 21.11. Zak Irwin (Sligo AC) also ran a PB of 21.76 enough to meet the B standard for the World Youths Championships.
Elsewhere Dara Kervick (Carrick on Suir AC) won the men’s 400m in 47.28 which is inside the standard for the European U23 Championships.
Perhaps it was the sun that brought out the best in the athletes so here are some of our favourite pictures from a sunny Santry.
