The Departures Lounge: Arsenal Cav an interest in Napoli striker
We round up the best of today’s transfer tid-bits.
AFTER BEING ASSURED by the Arsenal board that he has money to spend, Arsene Wenger has confirmed he is interested in signing Napoli striker Edison Cavani.
When pressed on new signings, Wenger said: “[Cavani] would cost a lot of money. Our banker lives nearby and he’s ready if we need him. I like him as a player.”
For the moment though, it seems as if Wenger and Arsenal’s priority will be convincing Theo Walcott to sign on the dotted line.

With the annual sighting of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar at some English airport out of the way this January, the Daily Express believe Kaka, that other perennial transfer story favourite, could spark a scramble for his services among a host of Premier League clubs.
Manchester United and Chelsea are among those said to be interested in securing the services of the 30-year-old Brazilian who is set to be released by current club, Real Madrid.
Elsewhere, AC Milan are poised to make a €12 million move for Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul while Blackpool have decided to play hardball with Liverpool over Tom Ince by refusing to accept the Mersysider’s calls.
Going?
As if fending off interest in Wilfried Zaha wasn’t hard enough, the Guardian are reporting that Crystal Palace must also keep an eye on winger Yannick Bolasie. The Congolese footballer has caught the attention of both Stoke and Wigan Athletic.
Elsewhere, Sunderland have made a formal bid for want-away Swansea striker Danny Graham. The 27-year-old is reportedly unsettled in Wales following the arrival of Michu and four goals in his last five appearances should remind potential suitors of his undoubted quality.
The Independent also report that Djibril Cisse is set to move to Al-Ghararafa. If Cisse does move to Qatar, it will be his sixth new club in as many years.
GONE!
Celtic have signed midfielder Tomas Rogic on a four-and-half-year contact from Cental Coast Mariners.
The Australia international finalised the move after impressing the club during Celtic’s mid-season training camp in Spain.
The deal is subject to a successful work permit application.
