FAI SENIOR WOMEN’S International Player of the Year Harriet Scott has signed for Super League side Birmingham City on a one-year deal.
24-year-old defender Scott left Reading at the end of last season with a number of clubs keen to capture her services for the 2018/19 campaign.
A strong and talented full-back, she’s come through the ranks at Reading and signed a full-time contract at the club in 2016 after their promotion to the Women’s Super League.
Scott played underage international football with Ireland at U17 and U19 level but made the decision to prioritise her education thereafter, delaying her breakthrough to the senior team.

She earned her first call-up to Colin Bell’s outfit for the 2017 Cyprus Cup and has made waves on the international scene since then.
In March, she was named FAI Senior Women’s International Player of the Year following some impressive displays in the early stages of the 2019 World Cup qualifying campaign, but missed this years games through injury.
Genuinely delighted to have signed with @BCFCwomen . I've felt so welcome already and I'm ecstatic to be somewhere that supports my on and off pitch ambitions. Excited for this season ⚽️📚💙 pic.twitter.com/vwLnP3Z734
“I’ve watched on as the club have performed extremely well over the past couple of the seasons and it’s one of the reasons I felt Birmingham was the best place for me,” Birmingsham’s new number 23 told their official website as the news was announced.
“From what I’ve seen Marc do with other players here, I’m confident there’s more to come from me and I can continue to develop and improve under him.
“There’s a clear ethos and style of play here and so I hope I can come in and hit the ground running.
“This club has the ability to be among the best in the WSL and I’m really excited to be part of it.”
