Roscommon ring the changes for final Super 8s outing against Dublin in Croker

The sides face off in a dead rubber at HQ on Sunday.

ROSCOMMON HAVE NAMED their side ahead of their final Super 8s clash as they prepare to face All-Ireland champions Dublin in Croke Park on Sunday (throw-in 3.30pm, live on RTÉ News Now).

Without Kevin McStay on the line — he has accepted a 12-week ban for a clash with a linesman last time out — Ger Dowd and Liam McHale have announced a team showing five personnel changes to that who started against Donegal in their Dr Hyde Park defeat.

Roscommon Gaels goalkeeper James Featherstone gets his chance between the posts ahead of Colm Lavin, while the Rossies have rung the changes in defence.

Peter Domican, Darra Petit and Ross Timothy all start while Fintan Cregg, Sean McDermott and Cathal Compton are the players to make way.

Boyle’s Enda Smith joins Tadgh O’Rourke to form the midfield partnership in Compton’s absence, while Ciaran Lennon starts at corner forward instead of Cathal Cregg.

There are some positional changes across the board, with captain Conor Devaney starting in the half-forward line rather than in the half backs.

After an 18-point loss to Tyrone in Croke Park and a seven-point defeat to the Tír Chonaill men, Roscommon are out of contention in the All-Ireland SFC and now face a daunting return to HQ to face the Dubs.
