THE GAA’S CENTRAL Hearings Committee has upheld the one-game ban imposed on Kildare forward Daniel Flynn by the CCCC for his red card against Galway.
Flynn was sent-off for an attempted strike on Tribe defender Sean Andy O Ceallaigh during the second-half of Galway’s win over Kildare the weekend before last. The CHC concurred with the CCCC’s finding that Flynn was guilty of “attempting to strike with the hand.”
As a result, the Johnstownbridge player will miss Kildare’s final Super 8s game against Kerry in Killarney on Saturday evening.

The Lilywhites cannot progress to the All-Ireland semi-finals but it’s a boost for Kerry who need to win, hope Monaghan lose to Galway and must overcome a five-point scoring differential.
Flynn can still bring his case to the Central Appeals Committee (CAC) and if that fails, the Disputes Resolution Authority (DRA) is the final avenue of appeal.

Kildare boss Cian O’Neill was extremely unhappy to see Flynn dismissed against Galway and criticised the linesman for failing to spot a foul on him in the lead-up to his red card.
“I saw it. Daniel is devastated. He was literally being manhandled, literally being dragged, he was shoving to get the man off him,” O’Neill said after the game.
“Once again the linesman is doing absolutely nothing and then he literally threw back, it wasn’t an elbow or a fist, of course the theatrics come into it, but you can’t blame a player for that. You just expect the people who are supposed to be officiating to get those calls right.”
