Watch: Ronnie O'Sullivan caught snoozing between frames at Scottish Open

O’Sullivan says his doctors advised him to catch up on rest wherever possible.

RONNIE O’SULLIVAN was seen taking naps between frames at the Scottish Open on Thursday, as he booked his place in the final 16 of the tournament.

O’Sullivan scored a final frame victory over Li Hang of China in the match, and slept through some of his designated breaks on the way to victory.

Although it seems like an unusual time to snooze, O’Sullivan says he has been advised by his doctors to increase his sleep intake due to a hectic schedule.

Speaking to Eurosport after his victory over Hang, O’Sullivan explained:

“My doctors told me to catch (up) on rest whenever I can because he knows I’v had a busy seven or eight weeks and he said that I must rest whenever I can.

Even when I thought I shouldn’t be sleeping I’ve just been sleeping. And it’s working, just a little snooze. Everyone needs a snooze.

“I was sitting there, thinking ‘this two or three minute break feels like forever.’ It was just a snooze moment.

“Nice little leather chair for my neck and it felt really good. I got 12 minutes rest there.”

O’Sullivan will now look to take on Welshman Michael White later on Thursday in the next round of the competition.
