Ex-Galway boss joins Dublin hurling management and recall for 2013 All-Star

Danny Sutcliffe is named on the panel that will travel to Boston for the Fenway Classic against Galway.

NEWLY APPOINTED DUBLIN hurling boss Pat Gilroy has finalised his new management team, with former Galway manager Anthony Cunningham among those coming on board.

The St Thomas’s clubman, who guided the Tribesmen to a Leinster title in 2012 as well as two All-Ireland finals, was expected to be added to the management ticket when Gilroy was appointed as the new manager last month.

Cunningham will also be joined by Mickey Whelan and Paddy O’Donoghue, who previously worked with Gilroy when he was in charge of the Dublin footballers.

Whelan is Gilroy’s clubmate at St Vincent’s and managed the senior hurlers to a Dublin SHC semi-final appearance against reigning All-Ireland winners Cuala this year.

Meanwhile, 2013 Leinster winner Danny Sutcliffe is among the names on the Dublin squad that will travel to Boston this weekend to face All-Ireland champions Galway in the Fenway Classic.

Sutcliffe, who also won an All-Star in 2013, previously quit the squad in 2015.
