Ireland step up International Rules preparations with training game in Melbourne

THE IRISH INTERNATIONAL Rules side stepped up their preparations in Melbourne today ahead of Sunday’s first test against Australia.

Joe Kernan’s squad played a training match among themselves at Yarra Park in the city, as they look to claim back-to-back series for just the second time in the competition’s history.

Ireland will fly out Adelaide tomorrow ahead of the series opener at the Adelaide Oval on 12 November.
